Edition 6 / November 2019
Dr. John Cameron,
Associate Director, Sales & Key Account Management,
CordenPharma International would like to thank all of our clients who met with us at our stand during CPhI Worldwide in Frankfurt November 5 – 7. After over 220 individual meetings with customers from 6 continents, it represented our busiest CPhI WW event so far! In particular, we noted a large increase in the number of inquiries and interest in our Highly Potent & Oncology Platform and Injectables Platform (partly due to a recent successful USFDA inspection of our new Aseptic Fill & Finish vial line facilities in CordenPharma Caponago).
This corresponds with Informa Market’s post-show CPhI Annual Industry Report 2019, which indicates that the overall pharma industry growth is perceived to be rising by an impressive 5.4% annually, and mentions the importance of patient-centricity in CDMO drug manufacturing, as well as the high demand for containment substance manufacturing.
The presence of the entire sales team (from Europe, USA, Asia Pacific & India), along with our senior leadership team (including our newly appointed CEO, Dr. Michael Quirmbach, VP of Platform Management & Marketing, Dr. Stephen Houldsworth, and VP of Sales & Key Account Management, Dr. Mimoun Ayoub) and representatives from each of our nine fully inspected cGMP sites, allowed customers an ideal opportunity to discuss potential & ongoing projects with our experts. Many discussions focused on our Fully-Integrated ONE PARTNER Supply Solution, which benefits customers by offering streamlined development and manufacturing expertise from APIs to Drug Products.
Beer has played a large part in German culture for centuries and while Oktoberfest took place last month, we at CordenPharma felt it only fitting to combine business with pleasure whilst in the spiritual home of beer, only 45 minutes from our CordenPharma Plankstadt (DE) facility. Thirsty participants sampled German beers & Bretzel, spoke with our very own beer expert (and German Key Account Manager) Matthias Bachhelm on German beer brewing culture, and entered a prize draw. Congratulations to Charlotte Tvermoes Rezai, VP Quality Assurance from Zealand Pharma A/S, who was the lucky winner of a craft beer brewing kit. We thank all the participants that stopped by – a good time was indeed had by all!
On Tuesday 5/11, Jason Bertola, Global Director of our Highly Potent & Oncology Platform, participated as a guest panellist at the World of Pharma Podium panel session “Oncology and its Spectrum of Innovation”. In front of an audience of around 40, a lively discussion ensued covering a wide range of diverse oncology topics such as compliance, industry trends, artificial intelligence and immuno-oncology.
See you next year at CPhI Worldwide 2020 > Stand 24H30, October 13-15 in Milano, Italy!
