Manages the personnel and activities of the CPC and CPB warehouses. Provides guidance, leadership and develops area employees. Responsible for the physical control and integrity of all materials held within warehouse control. Responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of the warehouse and compliance with all safety, regulatory, quality, financial, and non-financial requirements to support the site’s 24/7 operation.

Works with Planning, Purchasing and Production departments to coordinate the delivery of bulk solvents and other materials/consumables to meet complex production schedules. Interacts with internal process experts to keep abreast of process changes and modifies scheduling agreements accordingly. Interacts with internal process experts to keep abreast of process changes. Fulfills the role of SAP Warehouse Management (WM) Functional Expert for the CPC Site.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be

  • >>  Responsible for assuring that the CPC and CPB warehouses follow all departmental and company procedures and complies with local, state and federal GMP, regulatory, safety and environmental requirements.
  • >>  Scheduling of personnel to assure adequate coverage is maintained.
  • >>  Oversees internal and external audits of the Warehouse and provides follow up including item resolution and written documentation.
  • >>  Incident reporting as needed, lead, and participate in audits and management of associated CAPAs.
  • >>  In coordination with the Supply Planner and Procurement, evaluate bulk solvent/raw material needs for large and small-scale production processes.
  • >>  Initiate, manage and implement warehouse and logistic projects related to warehouse space utilization, cold storage operations, recycling, and disposal.
  • >>  Oversee profile for shipment of goods according to current DOT and IATA regulations. Maintain current DOT/IATA certification. Oversee hazardous waste management and shipping duties in accordance with internal procedures, local, state and Federal regulations.
  • >>  Verify quantity and quality of stock received from manufacturers and resolve issues pertaining to damaged goods, late deliveries, invoice approval and audit.
  • >>  Negotiation and management for all transportation activities. Authorizes payment of invoices or return of merchandise.
  • >>  Work with Supply Chain Manager and Supply Planner to coordinate inventory and logistics requirements.
  • >>  Manages movement of material and equipment amongst third party warehouses, manufacturing sites and offsite storage.
  • >>  Conducts employee reviews and responsible for warehouse employee related matters including, but not limited to; hiring, recognition, discipline, LTA’s, and disability issues, etc.
  • >>  Additional tasks may include: procure, receive, sample, test, unload and inventory control for bulk raw materials.
  • >>  Additionally, as part of the Materials team this position serves as a back up to other positions and responsible for other duties as assigned.
  • >>  Lead cross-functional process improvement efforts within Supply Chain Management as required.

High school diploma and three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. SAP training or certification is desirable.


Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.


Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.


Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.


Must be fork truck certified. Must be DOT & IATA certified.

The work environment is characteristic of a pharmaceutical/chemical manufacturing facility. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions.
