SUMMARY

Responsible for managing all of the planning and scheduling of CordenPharma production and maintenance operations. Ensures proposals are planned for key activities to ensure resource availability. Develops and modifies a resource loaded production schedule. Ensures the Integrated Production Plan is up to date and that SAP properly reflects the production activities of all areas. Evaluates options to improve utilization of key resources. Provides site Production Planning and Material Master Maintenance SAP support as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • >>  Plans the key activities including manufacturing as part of the RFP evaluation process.
  • >>  Directs the production planning function and the material coordinator’s activities to ensure accuracy of planned and actual data.
  • >>  Develop monthly and yearly production schedules, for budget and forecast processes, which will meet customer requirements, schedule adherence, and support right the first time requirements.
  • >>  Directs the preparation and maintenance of accurate manufacturing schedules within SAP that will be used to direct the activities of related support functions.
  • >>  Leads the optimization of the production planning process by maximizing production capabilities.
  • >>  As site representative for production planning, will communicate issues and possible solutions in a timely manner.
  • >>  Establishes and maintains strong, transparent and effective day to day working relationships between, operations, supply chain, PMO, R&D, internal support, regulatory groups, and CP customers related to assigned duties.
  • >>  Responsible for establishing and maintaining short to long-term (<24 months) production schedules based on input from customer forecasts, manufacturing management, and the program Management Office (PMO). Monitors the execution of production plans and updates schedules as necessary to ensure tracking tools are up to date.
  • >>  Ensures that the manufacturing plan and maintenance activities are well scheduled, coordinated and, where possible, optimized.
  • >>  Leads detailed production/maintenance resource planning, including resolution of utilization conflicts, in concert with production management, PMO, and supply chain.
  • >>  Leads communication of production and maintenance schedules to all other departments.
  • >>  Leads optimization and continuous improvement of systems used for manufacturing and maintenance scheduling. This includes analysis of manufacturing and maintenance workflows to identify areas for improvement.
  • >>  Regularly interfaces with procurement, logistics, PMO, operations and finance areas to lead timely and accurate data for materials requirements planning (MRP) in support of supply chain functions (including production recipes, Bills of Material (BOM’s) costing recipes and planned and process orders).
  • >>  Implements tools for scheduling, monitoring, and planning improvements in the manufacturing and maintenance areas.
  • >>  Develops and maintains standard workflows within the manufacturing and maintenance/facilities departments to optimize interactions between the departments.
  • >>  Leads programs to continuously improve the efficiency of maintenance performed at the facility, reducing maintenance interruption to running programs and streamlining the resources required to complete maintenance tasks.
  • >>  Inputs manufacturing capabilities into the system for long term S&OP capacity planning.
  • >>  Provides input to annual operating budget and communicates issues with adherence within budget targets.
  • >>  Implements and maintains adherence to all company policies concerning environmental, health, safety, quality and human resources.

LEADERSHIP & BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages staff and directs activities of planning and material coordination in all manufacturing areas. Carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) with five or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, including experience in a manufacturing environment. Candidate should have a background working with SAP and Microsoft Office Suite.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
