Anaesthesiology (parenteral)

Caponago

General anaesthesia is the precondition for surgical and invasive operations in which narcosis is necessary or desirable and advantageous. Two basic application methods have been developed for general anaesthesia:

Inhalation anaesthesia and intravenous anaesthesia. In the former method mentioned, narcotic gases or aerosols are administered to the patient via the air breathed in. In the latter, the more recent method of administration, a narcotic, normally together with an analgesic, is administered to induce and maintain the general anaesthesia.

Based on the technological skills of certain specific companies in the Corden Pharma Group, Corden Pharma is involved in the intravenous form of anaesthesia. Special attention is required here with parenteral administration forms with the substance Propofol. This substance is established worldwide as a standard narcotic for intravenous general anaesthesia.

Corden Pharma has mastered technologies for the manufacture of stable sterile emulsions for dosage forms with Propofol.

The forms manufactured by Corden Pharma include sterile emulsions in ampoules, vials, in various volumes and concentrations and prefilled syringes. In collaboration with our clients we are developing dosage forms that permit ease of use with the induction of narcosis. The pre-filled syringe is a product for efficient administration of the substance Propofol in a well-controlled dose.
